Amazing Rococo style library. Simply incredible. The ceiling murals are fantastic and the old book collection is impressive to say the least. Gothic art exhibit is also not to be missed!
Have been here for a short stop to rest. Not much to see, or anything special. Just a nice and quiet place. However during my visit, some parts were under construction, so haven't seen it all.
Recommend to visit it in summer rather than winter
Stunning. Very special and very unique. Worth a visit.
Admont Abbey Library in Austria is a stunning example of Baroque architecture and one of the largest monastic libraries in the world. The library holds over 70,000 volumes and boasts magnificent frescoes and sculptures that adorn its walls and ceilings. The highlight of the library is the impressive seven-part ceiling fresco by Bartolomeo Altomonte, which depicts the stages of human knowledge. Visitors to the library are awed by the beauty of its design and the wealth of knowledge contained within its walls. Overall, Admont Abbey Library is a must-visit for anyone interested in history, architecture, and the preservation of cultural heritage.
The library is simply gorgeous and so are the grounds!
A unique church and a spectacular place to visit ! ❤️
You have to pay 11,50 euro per person for the entry but if you love history and art, that amount is nothing compares to what you will get to see inside.
Plus collections of stones and animal species from around the world, some I believe are already extinct.
Highly recommended.
Beautiful place. Excellent library, park and church.
Absolutely beautiful Library. I absolutely love secret doors. And the stages of life statues were magnificent! My only regret is that we did not have enough time there.
